There are 3 Components we put together to create your comprehensive Weight loss programme: Weight training, nutrition and cardio – but not your standard cardio and I will come back to that later.
The Corner Stone of my programs is Weight Training. This is why.
Metabolism: The rate at which we burn calories per day. The majority of the calories we burn per day (70-90%) are while we are at rest. So it makes sense that we get this number as high as possible.
What We Know
- Metabolism decrease by 10% per year if we leave it alone
- Metabolism can be increased 40-60% through nutrition and exercise.
Too many programs that people follow or that average trainers offer concentrate on burning calories during the session but fail to consider the other 23 hours of the day. That’s Why my programs have been so successful.
A recent university study showed that for every 1 lb of muscle added you burn an additional 50 Calories per day
1lb=>50cals/day
That does not sound like much does it? But let’s do some math so you can see the bigger picture. Lets say I could magically click my fingers and add 10lbs of lean muscle to your frame and instead of one day we look at the effect that will have over a week. So it looks like this:
10x50x7= 3500cals
Wow an extra 3500cals burnt whilst you are RESTING! Did you know that 3500cals is the amount of calories in a 1lb of fat. So you have just burnt the equivalent of
1lb of FAT WHILST YOU ARE RESTING!!
Now these figures vary from person to person some will burn more and some less but the theory holds the muscle you have and the more muscle you activate the more calories you will burn per day at REST. And that is why my programs excel.

CARDIO
Now I do not use bog standard “steady state” cardio as a primary fat loss tool. Why not? Because when you walk on a treadmill (whatever) you are burning calories whilst you are doing it but very little carry over to the rest of the day. Even worse the more you do it the less carry over you get as your body adapts to it very rapidly. This means your will become more efficient at using fat for fuel – WHICH IS NOT GOOD!
I remember one of my clients came to me that had become frustrated with her fat loss progress. She was about 3 stone overweight. She had started like so many people by doing aerobics and LBT (legs bums and Tums) to start with she got some slight results but then her progress slowed so she increased her workout times by adding in some steady state cardio after the classes. When I asked how long she was now working out for each session I was staggered to find out she was working out for nearly 3 hours each session at the gym and she was visiting three times a week
.
CAN YOU IMAGINE WORKING OUT FOR THREE HOURS A DAY AND MAKING NO PROGRESS?
Her body had adapted to the training as is often the case with steady state training. The Cardio protocol used in my training systems avoids this adaption so you continue to progress and achieve results.
It is called HIIT or High Intensity Interval Training. I know what you thinking he said HIGH INTENSITY !! don’t fancy that much but keep reading and give me a chance to explain. Here is how the training works, I get you to go hard for say 30 seconds then you get to rest for 60 seconds. These time intervals are changed to constantly keep the body guessing. The great thing about this is that can only take about 15 minutes which is probably a fraction of the time your currently spending doing cardio at the moment .
And the Best Part
YOUR BODY WILL STILL BE BURNING EXTRA CALORIES FOR 38 HOURS AFTER THE WORKOUT
That means that if you workout Monday morning on Tuesday night you are still burning extra calories because of that workout
And now to the final part of the weight loss triangle.
Nutrition

I bet if you have been trying to achieve a weight loss goal that you probably have tried at least one of the many diets out there. For most people that follow diets they do achieve some measure of success. Some even manage to achieve their target weight. This success is more often than not far too short lived. Soon the weight that they worked so hard to lose goes back on and your back to square one. In fact for some they are even further back than when they started. They are heavier and more demoralised.

After digesting the numerous diet books available and latest research with regards to weight loss looking at common themes throughout them all. I have then taken these common themes to form what is essential in the healthy eating weight loss plans I offer.
Some of these Key points are.
- Every time you eat you are boosting your metabolism
- If your body goes to long between Feedings it will think it is being starved AND STORE FAT.
- Your body is more likely to give up stored body fat when it sees nutrition coming in.
- Your body has Ph balance if your body is to acidic it will hold onto FAT.
- Your Body needs all 3 of the Macro nutrients Protein Carbohydrates and fat.
Now these are just some of the key points included in the eating plans I offer. One of my favourite parts of the eating plans is we can always manage to work in a cheat or off day as a reward for your hard work. On this day you get to indulge your taste buds on your favourite food. This as well as being a major psychological benefit to you is also a benefit to your body.
